When a patient comes in for a Light Adjustable Lens ™ (LAL®) adjustment, we use a special Light Delivery Device™ (LDD™) that administers a concentrated beam of UV light onto their LAL so that it will adjust to the prescription. To help keep the LAL from involuntarily shifting between adjustments, we provide patients with three pairs of UV-protective eyeglasses. In this mini session, Brian Szabo, DO; Eric Fazio, MD; and Nick Bruns, OD, FAAO break down how each pair works, why they’re essential, and the appropriate times to wear them.
